Acura Secures Third Consecutive Pikes Peak Open Class Win and New Class Record with TLX GT

The RealTime Racing Acura TLX GT driven by Peter Cunningham took home a third straight Open Class win in the 2019 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, finishing third overall with a time of 9:24.433. Cunningham set another new record for the Open Class, improving on his own record time of 9:27.352 set in 2018. Powered by a 3.5L Twin Turbo V6, the same power unit Acura uses in its ARX-05 Daytona Prototype, the TLX GT was the fastest entry in the challenging fourth sector of the mountain.

Four additional Acura entries completed the race, including a production-based NSX driven by Acura engineer Nick Robinson, who beat his previous best time by more than three seconds. The Acura results are noteworthy as four of the brand's five entries were based on the grassroots efforts of its own associates, hand-built cars driven and crewed exclusively by Acura engineers with a passion for motorsports and a drive for performance.
